TROIS RIVIÈRES - A DISTILLERY CREATED IN 1660

The Trois Rivières plantation came into being in 1660 when Nicolas Fouquet, Superintendent of Finances to Louis XIV, was granted 2000 hectares of land in the south of the island, the largest ever plot of land granted in the West Indies.
